CamRide Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of the CamRide apps and service, operated by Vitabel & Sons Co. Limited, RCCM RC.TIKO.2024.B.059, Tiko, South West Region, Cameroon. By creating an account you accept them.

2. Who may use CamRide

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. You must give accurate information and keep your account details up to date. One account per person. You are responsible for what happens on your account.

3. What CamRide is

CamRide is a technology platform that connects riders with independent drivers. We are not a transport carrier and we do not employ the drivers. The transport contract is between you and the driver. We are responsible for operating the platform, verifying drivers before they carry passengers, and handling reports.

4. Rules for riders

• Be at the pickup point at the agreed time
• Treat the driver and the vehicle with respect
• Do not carry anything illegal, and do not ask the driver to break traffic law
• Pay the fare shown, by the method you selected
• Do not travel with more passengers than the vehicle is licensed to carry

5. Rules for drivers

• Hold and maintain every document Cameroonian law requires of a professional driver, and keep them current on the platform
• Keep the vehicle roadworthy, insured and inspected
• Only drive the vehicle registered to your account for that trip
• Do not discriminate against a rider on any ground
• Do not ask a rider to cancel and pay outside the platform
• Do not use the account while unfit to drive

6. Fares and payment

The fare is calculated from distance, time and the applicable rate, and is shown before you confirm. Where demand raises the price, that is disclosed before you book. Additional charges may apply for waiting time, tolls, cleaning after a soiling incident, or cancellation after the free window. Payment is by MTN Mobile Money, Orange Money or cash as offered in your city. Our service fee is deducted from the fare and disclosed to drivers in the driver app.

7. Cancellation

You may cancel free of charge until the driver is on the way to you. After that a cancellation fee of 300 XAF may apply. If the driver cancels or does not arrive, you are not charged.

8. Safety and reporting

Either party may report the other. Serious reports are escalated immediately and may result in suspension while we investigate. You may block being matched with a specific person again, and that is not disclosed to them. We cooperate with the Cameroonian authorities where the law requires it.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that presents a safety risk, or that we reasonably believe is fraudulent. You may close your account at any time — see deleting your account.

10. Liability

We provide the platform as it is. We are responsible for operating it with reasonable care, and for our own negligence. We are not liable for the conduct of a driver or a rider beyond our obligations as platform operator. Nothing here excludes liability that Cameroonian law does not allow us to exclude.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon. Disputes fall to the competent courts of Cameroon.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and notify you in the app before material changes take effect. Continuing to use CamRide after that means you accept them.
